Inverallochy

This fascinating course heads off from the cottages at the southernmost edge of Inverallochy along the narrowest strip of links and dunes towards the village of St. Combs a mile and a half away. The shortish, but highly exhilarating, 5149 yards of the course are extremely exciting, given the proximity of the North Sea and associated golfing perils, while the almost permanent presence of onshore breezes can turn a fairly modest test of golf to near bedlam when nature decides to make its presence felt. This is a splendid venue on which to test your skills at links golf, where the narrowness to which I referred earlier, particularly at the furthest extremities of the course, will have a major bearing on the outcome. A really scary out of bounds all the way down the long sixth can also be painful!
