Cullen
Situated around the wonderful sweep of Cullen Bay, this little course is the epitome of holiday golf. For those in need of a pick-meup, take this in as large a dose as you can. Fun and frustration are guaranteed as you attempt to overcome the challenge, which has a unique appearance and, originally, was of Old Tom Morris’ design. As you would expect, there’s a flat bit beside the beach (links and a bit of heath here and there). There’s the top section (parkland, perched on the cliff tops). Then there are the huge red sandstone bluffs and rocks, which almost separate one end of the course from the other. Do they come into play? Do they just! Play from them, around them and over them (fortunately not all at once!) and, almost unknown to you - it probably won’t dawn on you until you’re back in the clubhouse - you will have more fun than you ever experienced on a golf course.
