WORD - The University of Aberdeen Writers Festival held annually in the beautiful surroundings of Old Aberdeen in May, with a mix of literary, musical and art attractions.

Taste of Grampian - Check out the region's fantastic range of producers at this ever more popular one day food festival on in June. Celebrity chef demonstrations and plenty of opportunity to sample the local produce - a fantastic day out.

The Scottish Traditional Boat Festival in Portsoy in July offers visitors a superb array of maritime history and heritage, traditional arts and crafts and a delicious food fayre.
