Rich in scenic beauty and places of interest the area offers relaxed motoring in peaceful surroundings and marvellous opportunities to observe wildlife. There are castles at Corgarff (MS), Kildrummy (HS) and Glenbuchat, gardens at Candacraig and Kildrummy. The Lonach Gathering (fourth Saturday in August) is a unique Highland Games with the march of the Lonach Highlanders. Skiing and snowboarding (snow and dry ski slope) can be enjoyed at the Lecht.
