St. Cyrus and Johnshaven are two villages on the rocky east Aberdeenshire coast between Montrose and Inverbervie.

Close by are the cliffs and dunes of St Cyrus National Nature Reserve which support a distinctive range of plants, including many southern species. The reserve is home to a rich variety of insects, particularly butterflies and over 200 types of moth.
