Towns & Villages / Macduff

Every year, the Mobil North Sea Yacht Race between Stavanger and Macduff starts and finishes in this small coastal town. Its east coast presence provides spectacular sunsets each night over the town’s dramatic cliff fronts. Any visit wouldn’t be complete with a trip to the new Marine Aquarium and its unique open-air centre tank.

Nearby is the William Adam designed Duff House, home to a vast body of the National Gallery of Scotland’s art collection, all of which is open for a stroll through. South of the house, a walk through Wrack Woods will uncover a mausoleum, an ice-house and the River Deveron, chock full of good salmon and trout fishing.
